Before entering consultancy, he built a successful industrial career with Dunlop across the UK, India and Germany, before becoming a Director of companies in the packaging and security printing sectors.Alongside his consulting work, Nick is a Director of a Hampshire-based charity providing furniture and household essentials for people in need, and offering training and work experience to volunteers entering employment. He is married with two grown-up children and four grandsons — and when he's not at the strategy table, you'll find him on the golf course or in the vegetable garden.
As a Chartered Engineer, Nick is an active member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, taking part in the activities of the South of England Branch of the Institute.
Nick is a Fellow of the UK Institute of Consulting and sits on the Institute of Consultancy Advisory Committee, responsible for governance of the Institute within the IC's parent body the Chartered Management Institute.

"Three hundred million years of evolutionary refinement. One creature that never went extinct. Not through size or strength — through intelligent agility."
The world has changed. Traditional strategy hasn't kept up. Built for slower, more predictable environments, conventional planning frameworks actively mislead when volatility becomes the norm.
Dragonfly Strategy is a new and innovative consulting model — forged for turbulence. It translates the dragonfly's extraordinary biological capabilities into a practical leadership system: one that helps organisations see more clearly, move more intelligently, focus more purposefully, and collaborate more effectively.
Discover the BookSee systems rather than symptoms. Detect weak signals before they become obvious threats or missed opportunities.
Change direction without creating chaos. Pivot with precision rather than lurching from crisis to crisis.
Ensure agility serves meaning — not just reaction. Know what matters, pursue it relentlessly, resist fragmentation.
Build trust-based relationships across cultures and sectors that enable coordinated action in complex environments.
The world has changed. Strategy hasn't caught up.
Traditional strategic planning was built for a world that moved slowly and rewarded prediction. That world is gone. Today's leaders face volatility that invalidates five-year plans before the ink dries, complexity that defies linear thinking, and change that accelerates faster than organisational reflexes can follow.
Drawing on global consulting practice and Nick's decades of experience across industries and cultures, Dragonfly Strategy spans 22 chapters — from strategic diagnosis to leadership mastery, from ethical decision-making to practical toolkits for facilitation and assessment.
